Position Overview

The Operations Engineer II supports day-to-day manufacturing operations by resolving production issues, improving processes, troubleshooting equipment concerns, and developing clear procedures and layouts for the shop floor. This role works closely with production, maintenance, team members, and external customers to help maintain efficient and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and update operator procedures for the shop floor.
• Address and help resolve daily production-related issues on the shop floor.
• Research and design systems that support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate equipment failures and operating difficulties, diagnose potential causes, and provide recommendations to the maintenance team.
• Coordinate with external customers regarding shop-floor-related issues.
• Develop and maintain process layouts for existing and new processes and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot practical manufacturing and equipment-related problems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare clear, well-written procedures, routine correspondence, and technical reports.
• Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to speak with employees throughout the organization.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Ability to apply practical problem-solving skills to situations involving multiple variables within standardized processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with SAP and AutoCAD or other 3D drawing/modeling software.
• Ability to calculate and interpret rates, ratios, percentages, fractions, decimals, and basic graphical data.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
• 2+ years of engineering experience required.
• Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (gold or black star) or a current passport indicating federal compliance.
• Positive, collaborative approach and the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
Successful completion of the required background screening process.
