Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an aerospace internship candidate to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges in the Completions Operations Engineering team in St. Louis.

You will perform mechanical design, modeling, and drafting of aircraft interior equipment, and use 3D printing and scanning tools to develop and refine processes. The role requires active full-time student status in relevant engineering fields with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, strong communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Must be a full-time student at time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher, listed on resume.

Job description

  • Apply classroom learning to real-world aerospace challenges
  • Perform mechanical engineering design, modeling, and drafting of new and derivative versions of aircraft interior equipment
  • Utilize scanning and 3D printing tools
  • Develop and modify engineering processes
  • Coordinate with shop manufacturing personnel during fabrication
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action events
  • Participate in new development engineering projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work with skilled professionals within the Completions Operations Engineering team
Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume
  • Must be available to work on-site in St. Louis during the Spring 2027 semester, beginning in January 2027
  • Must work onsite; this is not a remote position
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on, aviation focused environment
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Display maturity and a high level of professionalism
  • Proven leadership skills on-campus or in a previous work atmosphere
  • Previous internship experience a plus
