Job summary

KennMar LLC in Indianapolis is seeking an Operations Engineer to manage all mechanical operations, maintenance and energy management programs for the Pyramids. You will ensure compliance with codes, perform preventive and repair tasks, and participate in on-call rotations.

The role emphasizes safe, reliable building operation, equipment upkeep, and timely documentation of work orders. Strong communication and multi-tasking are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of commercial HVAC or related experience.
  • Experience with 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Ability to comply with codes, regulations and safety directives.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation with other engineers.
  • Estimate time and materials for repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and tools for tasks.
  • Perform preventive and repair maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance records as required.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and summon assistance as needed.
  • Perform light plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Join our innovative team at KennMar as our Operations Engineer. In this dynamic role, you will manage all mechanical operations, maintenance and energy management programs in the Pyramids.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Participate in On-Call rotation with other engineers
  • Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs
  • Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and tools necessary to complete all tasks
  • Performs assigned repairs, both emergency and preventive maintenance
  • Completes preventive and repair maintenance records as required
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform light plumbing and electrical repairs.

Requirements
Physical Demands
  • Work indoors approximately 80% of the time and outdoors approximately 20% of the time
  • Work standing all day
  • Lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Climb up and down stairs and ladders
  • Access remote work areas and confined spaces (i.e., crawl spaces, roofs)
  • Use full range of manual dexterity (i.e., sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting)
  • Meet the shift working requirements of the assigned property; shifts may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and some holidays
  • Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate
Education & Experience Desired:

High school diploma or equivalent

One-Two years commercial HVAC or related experience

3 phase electrical experience
