Job summary

Matador Resources Company seeks an experienced Operations Engineer to oversee completion operations, including design, planning, budgeting, procurement, and field coordination across the life cycle of wells.

You will mentor junior engineers, analyze costs and performance, explore new tech to improve efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance with EHS. Travel to field is required to supervise operations.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Petroleum Engineering, or related degree with oil and gas experience.
• 3–5+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in operations or production engineering.
• Permian Basin and/or Delaware Basin field operations experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, WellView, Rodstar, Tibco Spotfire, PowerBI.
• Professional Engineer license a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interface with management and field personnel.
• Ability to work fast-paced, set priorities, and work with limited supervision.
• Willing to make frequent on-site field visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to field operations staff during complex completion operations.
• Perform in-depth analysis of costs and operations performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Initiate technical studies and trials, and propose cost-saving improvements.
• Maintain regulatory compliance in coordination with EHS personnel.
• Explore new downhole and surface technologies to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with drilling, facilities, midstream, and production operations across the life of a well.
• Interface with Land, Accounting, Geology, Regulatory, and Engineering teams to manage daily activities.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and pursue ongoing technical training.
