Job summary

Sonoco’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) offers full-time positions with hands-on experience, leadership coaching, and access to senior leaders. The program targets recent graduates in Mechanical Engineering and related fields who are embarking on manufacturing careers.

Participants will rotate through core development areas, receive technical training, and gain skills in leadership, communication, and change management while contributing to Sonoco’s manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering by December 2026 or May 2027.
• Previous internship experience in Manufacturing or a functional area.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Desire to work in a Manufacturing environment.
• Technical aptitude and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Emerging Leaders Program to develop operational and leadership capabilities.
• Engage in technical training and project work to build foundational engineering skills.
• Develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and conflict management.

• Leadership Development –Learning how to communicate vision, increase engagement, effectively manage change, andestablishtrust through results and relationships

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for BusinessNon-Technical Degrees is between $68,000 and $71,000

The annual base salary range for Technical/EngineeringDegrees is between $77,000and $85,000
