This role supports the Stop Loss business, with preferred experience in Major Medical Group Health (Stop Loss, Self Funded, or Fully Insured).

Compensation Grade: H2

Note: This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Job Summary

As a Director, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership & Management: Direct department roles, manage daily operations, and guide strategic activities ensuring alignment with standards and compliance.
  2. Project & Process Improvement: Lead staff participation in projects and develop process improvements to enhance service delivery.
  3. Talent Development: Foster a culture of coaching, develop talent for succession, and manage performance.
  4. Customer & Staff Education: Oversee education on processes, build relationships through presentations and direct contact.
  5. Operational Oversight: Monitor workflow, oversee service issue resolution, and ensure quality standards are met.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory adherence, mentor staff on audits, and serve as a regulatory advisor.
  7. Process & Technology: Oversee design, development, and modification of processes and technology, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  8. Expense & Financial Management: Lead expense management initiatives and streamline processes to reduce costs.
  9. Specialized Oversight: Oversee producer onboarding, compensation, and underwriting activities as needed.
Reporting & Qualifications

Reports To: Vice Presidents; manages 3-10 staff members.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related; 10+ years in financial services with supervisory experience; licenses such as FINRA Series 6 and 26 may be required.

Skills & Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance and financial products, regulatory environment, leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Additional Information

Position may require occasional travel. The role is exempt from overtime eligibility. The work environment is primarily office-based.
