Ulta Beauty is seeking an Operations Development and Initiatives Manager in Bolingbrook/Chicago to oversee cross-functional retail operations initiatives. You will design, scope, and lead key projects from concept to closure, driving timelines, budgets, and stakeholder alignment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or PMP certification (or 3+ years of equivalent experience) and proficiency with project tools. A hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence 6 days per month is involved.

THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

The Operations Development and Initiatives Manager is responsible for supporting the fluctuating needs of the business through project management and change management related to strategic retail operations initiatives. This person designs and scopes initiatives prior to project kick off and once approved, leads key stakeholders and project teams through the project lifecycle, managing scope, timelines and budget. This role demands an experienced project manager with a history of leading multiple projects simultaneously and the aptitude to lead and influence cross-functional teams without authority. Success in this role requires the ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations across a broad audience from project teams to executives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate across functions to design, scope and propose key initiatives prior to project kick-off to determine viability before project kick off
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, reinforcing strategic intent of deliverables
• Develop and maintain detailed project charters, roadmaps, plans, schedules, budgets and governance
• Lead end-to-end project execution from initiation through closure, monitoring progress and adjusting plans to ensure project objectives are met
• Identify and elevate risks/issues quickly to ensure minimal disruption to business objectives, store performance and the guest experience

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree, PMP certification or 3+ years of equivalent experience
• Experience with project software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet)
• Strong communication and presentation skills (including powerpoint presentation creation)
• Proven ability to drive success through collaboration, influence, and relationship-building
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term objectives with immediate business needs

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• 6 days per month in-office in Bolingbrook, IL or Chicago, IL

The pay range for this position is $90,800.00 - $119,200.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
