Job summary

Ag Partners Cooperative Inc. in Corning, KS is seeking an Operations & Delivery(CDL) Technician to support customer service and the petroleum department’s delivery operations.

Qualifications

Operations & Delivery(CDL) Technician

The Operations & Delivery Technician is responsible for excellent customer service and assisting all departments by driving a delivery truck, loading and unloading product, and general maintenance and housekeeping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.)

Responsible for:

  • Following directions established for operations, maintenance and equipment ofvarious departments in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Manager including:
  • Setting up, filling and delivery of totes and tanks.
  • Maintaining the warehouse.
  • Loading and unloading products.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties, maintains clean work areas, and secures equipment and facilities when closing.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Timely and efficient delivery of product while complying with safety regulations.
  • Maintaining customer records in route book and truck log per DOT regulations.
  • Maintenance of the refined fuel delivery truck and reporting any concerns to management.
  • Making out sales tickets as deliveries are made and preparing the daily delivery report.
  • Reporting to management opportunities for increased sales and improved efficiencies in operation of the petroleum department.
  • Operating vehicles, large trucks, forklift, and other equipment in a safe manner and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.

  • Works with other cooperative staff at other locations to ensure cooperative goals are met.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous experience related to grain, feed, fertilizer, chemicals and/or farms supplies is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the cooperative.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Haz-Mat, Airbrake and Tanker Endorsements and/or the ability to obtain and maintain.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is regularly required to legally operate a grain elevator manlift with the door closed, (300 lb. weight limit), climb stairs, and climb ladders to the top of the elevator (approximately an additional 30’-40’). The employee may occasionally need to climb ladders and or stairs that may range from 20’ to 180’. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and explosives. The noise level in this work environment usually loud (although not believed to exceed the eight-hour threshold for working in or around loud equipment). Employee must understand and implement all related safety policies, procedures and programs for prevention and protection while performing job duties in various work environments.
