Job Title: Operations Crewmember Lead Location: Hampton, VA Employment Type:Full-time W2
GovFirst is seeking an Operation Crewmember Lead to work onsite in Hampton, VA.
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- Monitor the work of Operator BridgeTunnel (OBT) contractors assigned to the client facility; to ensurequality control and contract compliance for performance of job duties.
- Work with the VDOT Operationsmanagers and supervisors to determine the staffing needs of thefacilities, support hiring goals, and coordinate contractor shiftassignments
- Participate in the candidateselection process, to include applicant tracking, sourcing, recruiting,interviewing, orientations, and onboarding.
- Serve as the coordinator andpoint-of-contact for newly classroom trained personnel to ensure incompleting their field training.
- Develop employee schedules andserve as a first-line supervisor for personnel issues including unplannedcallouts or non-appearance.
- Allocate time on-nights, earlymornings, and weekends as needed to support a 24-7-365 client operation.
- Act as a representative during high impact events at the needs and request of theclient.
- Provide regular presence at theControl Room, inspection booths, and crash houses to develop rapport withpersonnel ensuring quality of work performance.
- Monitor performance evaluationreports and timesheets to gauge employee performance.
- Respond to emergency situationsrelating to contract personnel and be alert to safety, access, andsecurity protocols of the facility.
- Ensure personnel are regularlybriefed on company and client priorities, initiatives, policies, safetyand goals.
- Serve as the preliminary point ofcontact for all employees, responding to questions regarding personnelpolicies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents andcomplaints to include preparing reports for administrative review.
- Process leave request paperwork forpersonnel and assist with timesheet data input, review, approval, andsubmission to employee's respective corporate offices.
- Create and maintain updatedpersonnel files with contact information or other changes.
- Publish regular activity reportsand progress documentation benefitting usage of the company and client.
- Participate in regular team andclient meetings and briefings.
- Represent the company's positionand interests to external stakeholders.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience directingand controlling traffic, as well as conducting and documenting vehicleinspections.
- Fullrange of physical mobility, visual perception, and general good health.
- Capableof multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depthknowledge of Hampton Roads interstate and local roadways.
- Computerliterate; Windows-based application experience.
- Experiencein radio and phone communications.
- Generalknowledge of vehicle mechanics and repair.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Traffic Controloperations and extensive customer service.

- Afingerprint based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) will be conductedprior to employment.
