Microbac Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Operations BI Analyst to build and maintain KPI dashboards and support data-driven decisions.

The role focuses on dashboards from Excel, data transformation, and delivering insights to operations leadership. This is a remote, part-time position offering flexible scheduling for 10-25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience as BI/Data Analyst or similar role.
• Proficiency in Power BI, data modeling and DAX.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and Power Query.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain KPI dashboards for operations.
• Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources (Excel, LIMS, internal systems).
• Develop advanced Excel models (pivot tables, formulas, Power Query).
• Automate recurring reports to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to identify reporting needs and gaps.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support decisions and process improvements.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting tools.
• Document data definitions, reporting logic, and workflows.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Part-Time Operations BI Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across our operations. This role will focus on building and maintaining KPI dashboards, improving reporting efficiency, and delivering actionable insights that enhance operational performance.

The ideal candidate is highly proficient in building dashboards from Excel, with a strong ability to translate complex data into clear, business-focused insights.This is a remote, part-time position with 10-25 hours per week; flexible scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards to track key operational metrics
• Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources (Excel, LIMS, internal systems)
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel models (pivot tables, Power Query, formulas)
• Automate recurring reports to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
• Partner with operations leadership to identify reporting needs and performance gaps
• Conduct ad hoc analysis to support decision-making and process improvements
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting tools
• Document data definitions, reporting logic, and workflows

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
• Strong proficiency in Power BI or alike (dashboard development, data modeling, DAX)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, Power Query; VBA a plus)
• Experience working with operational or performance data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• High attention to detail and data accuracy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in operational settings
• Familiarity with LIMS, ERP, or CRM systems
• Basic knowledge of SQL or data querying
• Experience building KPI frameworks and performance dashboards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma; plus, two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree
• Basic knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines and rush orders
• Ability to work with delicate laboratory equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A general understanding of terms and concepts typically used throughout the industry is preferred
