Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Operations Associate to help create an outstanding customer experience by performing core store operations before opening. This is an early morning role worked with a team to prepare merchandise, set pricing, and ensure shelves are ready for customers.

You will move briskly around the floor, restock, unload merchandise with colleagues, and support omnichannel tasks such as Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, and in-store returns.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail experience.
• Ability to maneuver around the store quickly.
• Attention to pricing, signing, and merchandising.
• Willingness to learn store processes.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – maneuver around the store at a fast pace, providing assistance to customers.
• Execute pricing and signing – change ticket prices and sign merchandise across the store quickly and accurately.
• Replenish and restock the store – understand customer needs, assist sales floor peers and leaders by pulling and preparing merchandise to go to the floor to ensure all styles and sizes are available.
• Receive and unload merchandise – work with co-workers to unload a truck and prepare merchandise in the backroom.
• Maintain backroom standards – keep the stockroom safe, clean, and organized.
• Support omnichannel operations – contribute to Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, Shipping Online Orders, and Merchandise Receiving initiatives.
• Implement merchandise strategy – execute leadership plans for merchandise placement, maintaining merchandising standards to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Participate in a learning environment – absorb new information from peers or training materials on merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.
