Job summary

U.S. Army MWR at Fort Irwin is seeking a hands-on Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily dining operations and staff.

This role includes supervising front and back-of-house activities, handling cash, and ensuring service standards during peak hours. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months in fast-paced food/beverage environments, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and a readiness to support a military community both on-site and in coordination with supervisors.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months experience effectively working in a fast‑paced food and beverage establishment or a current MWR Texas Roadhouse team member.
  • Must possess good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs hands-on supervision of the restaurant including occasional non-scheduled assisting with serving, hosting, cooking and other duties.
  • Monitors operations during peak hours to ensure smooth running and adherence to schedules and priorities.
  • Ensures staff is present and informed about services, prices, dress codes, standards of behavior, and events; ensures recipes and procedures are followed.
  • Assumes responsibility for cash during shift including cash handling; conducts inventory at start and end of shift.
  • Provides administrative supervision to employees, authorize clock in/out; reports on employee performance to supervisors.

Summary

This position is located at: Shockwave - Fort Irwin, California.

Shockwave serves up mouthwatering pizzas, flavorful appetizers, hearty pastas, crisp salads, and so much more. The facility offers a relaxing or fun atmosphere with arcade games, pool tables, air hockey, and outdoor patio, making it the perfect spot for everyone. There are also multiple TVs for sports and entertainment, as well as a full bar.

Eligibility

Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. and United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties
  • Performs "Hands-on" supervision of the restaurant. This includes but is not limited to occasional temporary non-scheduled assistance with serving, hosting, cooking and other duties.
  • Monitors operations to ensure smooth running of the business operation during peak business hours to set the pace in Front and Back of the House. Adherence to established schedules of activities and priorities.
  • Assures the presence of personnel to carry out the services offered; provides information concerning services, prices, dress codes, standards of behavior, and special events. Ensures staff is following established recipes and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for cash during shift including cash collected from waiter’s guest checks. Conducts inventory at beginning and/or end of shift.
  • Provides administrative supervision to all employees, authorize employees to clock in and out; reports to functional supervisors on employee performance.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

Preferred Qualifications Highly preferred candidates will be referred to management first. In addition to meeting the above qualifications, highly preferred is defined as also meeting any of the criteria listed below:

  • Skills in Microsoft Office systems.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
