Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing mainly on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
• Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery
• When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates
• Process all SSC corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information
• Handle store-related requests and communications delegated by the Store Manager
• Assist in the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines
• Optimize promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Manage seasonal areas for sales effectiveness
• Coordinate signage used in the store
• Process damaged merchandise daily
• Assist in creating weekly schedules
• Manage store supplies and control expenses
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area to maximize impulse sales
• Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
