Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
• Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery
• When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines
• Maintain promotional displays and manage seasonal areas for sales effectiveness
• Coordinate signage within the store
• Process damaged merchandise daily
• Assist with weekly scheduling
• Manage store supplies and control expenses
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales
• Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily (balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
