Job summary

GLOVIS EV Logistics America LLC in Savannah, GA is seeking an Operations Assistant Manager to oversee Consolidation Center operations, lead staff, and align KPI targets across Safety, Quality, Productivity, Customer Experience and Cost.

You will drive process improvements, manage RFQ responses, conduct monthly close on AP/AR, and enforce SOPs while coordinating manpower and ensuring timely flows of customer services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced logistics environment is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or a related field.
  • Experience with high-volume inventory movement is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic office software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff and subcontractors to achieve department goals.
  • Drive KPI achievement in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Experience.
  • Control costs and implement loss-prevention measures.
  • Manage RFQ processes from potential customers.
  • Conduct monthly financial closings on AP/AR and prepare supporting documents.
  • Establish and enforce SOPs for Consolidation Center operations.
  • Lead manpower planning to meet production goals.
  • Investigate root causes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly logistics reports on stock, costs, downtime, and manpower.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors; act as liaison with upper management.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff; provide feedback and coaching.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $86,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

The Operations Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing all activities related to Glovis Consolidation Center (CC) operations. The Operations Assistant Manager will provide leadership and guidance to Glovis EV staff and ensure that customer satisfaction is met and exceeded. The Operations Assistant Manager will be a key player in enforcing compliance of safety standards and leading operational planning and KPI development, while promoting operational efficiency and the timely flow of customer services.

Department: Consolidation Center/Operations

Reports to: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1 st Shift (Expected from 6:00AM-3:00PM) (Rotating weekends and overtime may be required) (Schedule is subject to change based on production requirements)

Location: Onsite, Ellabell, GA 31308 (Must have the ability to commute within the neighboring facilities for meetings, events, etc.)

Responsibilities for an Operations Assistant Manager:
  • Manage staff and subcontractor in day-to-day department activities and ensure policies and procedures are carried out to achieve established company goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership with effective engagement by coordinating team efforts to achieve KPI goals in areas such as Safety, Quality, Productivity, Customer Experience, Employee Engagement and Cost.
  • Manage costs and implement goals to reduce and prevent loss while maximizing profits.
  • Manage and Process for RFQ from potential customers.
  • Conduct monthly finance closing on AP/AR invoices and present requested documentation from related parties.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Consolidation Center (CC) operations.
  • Lead operational planning and determine manpower and labor needs to meet productions goals.
  • Investigate root causes of issues, implement corrective actions, and initiate continuous improvement activities to remove process barriers, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies.
  • Record, organize, and analyze operational data to prepare weekly/monthly logistics reports on stock level, spending/costs, downtime, manpower, shortage, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with the customer by relaying issues and acting as a liaison between supporting vendors and upper management.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate employee performance and engage in employee development by providing feedback and coaching.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for an Operations Assistant Manager:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or related field is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a fast-paced logistics assembly production environment required.
  • At least 8 years of logistics, warehousing, distribution, or relevant field
  • High volume inventory movement/management is required
  • Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel as well as basic office software (printer, scanner, PC, etc.) is required
  • Ideal strengths for this position include a bias for action, detail oriented & date driven, fast paced, and the ability to multitask under pressure

Physical Demands for an Operations Assistant Manager:

  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Ability to bend, turn, and use peripherals as required to operate equipment safely within company standard operator procedures.
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing up to 50 lbs., depending on the location, throughout shift.
  • Able to work in a warehouse environment for up to 8-hour shifts, and any overtime hours if applicable.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Operations Assistant Manager is $86,000-$90,000.
