Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the SR400 Express Lanes project in Georgia. The role oversees day-to-day management to ensure the contract requirements are met, with a focus on safety, cost efficiency, and quality across multiple office locations and time zones.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, crew supervision, training, and collaboration with the Operations and Maintenance Manager to determine the best contract approach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or higher; with relevant work experience in Construction or Maintenance experience highly sought-after.
• Work Experience: 7 years' work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry (preferred); prior experience in a leadership role (highly preferred).

• Supervise the Maintenance Business Unit project's day-to-day management to ensure contract requirements are met.
• Develop working relationships across office locations and time zones; coordinate and schedule work.
• Inspect ongoing and completed work for contract compliance; manage field crews and provide safety and training.
• Determine best approach for bringing assets into contract compliance considering cost, timelines, and efficiency.
• Prepare reports, timesheets, and work orders; identify subcontractors and negotiate parameters.
• Support incident response, on-call rotations, and off-hours availability as needed.

The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Ferrovial Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and significant improvements to the corridor. Construction began in late 2022, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

This position will be responsible for the Supervision of the Maintenance Business Unit project’s day-to-day management to ensure the contract requirements are met in a safe, dependable, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing manner as directed by the Operations and Maintenance Manager.

Job Description

• Performs condition assessment of pavements, signs, guardrails, bridges, vegetation and other contract infrastructure and assets
• Schedules and coordinate work to be performed
• Assist with roadway characteristics inventory
• Assists the Operations and Maintenance Manager to determine the best approach (self-performance or sub-contract) for bringing assets into contract compliance considering cost, timelines, and efficiency
• Plans and coordinates work plan schedules
• Inspects in-process and completed work to ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Supervisory responsibility including the selection, development, and performance management of maintenance crews
• Facilitates all required new hire training and ongoing required safety and work standard training
• This position requires being available outside of normal business hours as needed, and participating in an on-call rotation on nights, weekends and holidays as may be needed
• Always available to all incident emergencies and coordinate work of on-site responders
• Report accident/injury (actual and near misses)
• Assists in the inspection of fleet
• Manage, monitor, and control highway project assets and materials
• Identifies opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency, and cost reduction
• Create and manage successful completion of all work orders
• Responsible for accurate and timely completion and entry of work reporting and timesheets for field crews
• Prepares other reports and correspondence as necessary
• Identifies, qualifies subcontractors, and assists in negotiating contract parameters with sub-contractors
• Assists and monitors routine work plan activities such as traffic control and maintenance work
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies

• High School diploma or higher; with relevant work experience in Construction or Maintenance Experience highly sought-after Work Experience: 7 years' work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry (preferred); prior experience in a leadership role (highly preferred)

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record (required) DOT certifications (highly desired) CDL license preferred but no necessary

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
