The Operations Analyst position will help Bus leadership team manage various initiatives focused on continuous improvement and modernizing Bus Operations. This position will develop and manage project lifecycles from planning, design, pilot, and delivery phases. The Operations Analyst will coordinate and execute a portfolio of projects across Bus areas, working within the department as well as external departmental stakeholders. This position will maintain a focus on safety, service, and process improvement.
Field Monitoring and Data Collection
- Monitor field operations and collect data on operator performance, equipment usage, and conditions.
- Conduct audits and pre-trip inspections to collect data and assess adherence to protocols across bus garages and field locations.
- Support audits by gathering, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources, such as accident forms, operator feedback, and field inspections.
Campaign Support and Data Analysis
- Assist in developing, analyzing, and supporting campaigns, such as generating data-driven reports to identify key areas of focus.
- Collect and analyze metrics to evaluate initiative success, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare campaign materials such as videos, flyers, and reports, working with the team to ensure clear communication of objectives.
- Manage and update data-driven dashboards that track incidents, accident trends, and injury reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data entry.
- Analyze incident trends and other metrics to identify potential risk factors and areas for improvement.
- Conduct assessments and data reviews to help identify root causes of issues and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
Meetings and Reporting
- Participate in and support meeting coordination by preparing data reports and related materials for monthly garage meetings, BARC (Bus Accident Reduction Committee), and other committees such as SRM (Safety Risk Management) workshops and RAWG (Rules Assessment Working Group).
- Prepare regular reports summarizing incidents, trends, and key metrics for management review.
- Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned

Supervision
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years managing multiple cross-functional projects in a large organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and clearly communicate risk assessments.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Consistent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and maintaining scope, schedule, and budget.

Substitutions
- A High School Diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the Bachelor’s degree requirement
- An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitutes for the Bachelor’s degree requirement
- A Master’s degree in a related subject substitutes for two (2) years of general experience.
- A nationally recognized certification, or statewide/professional certification in a related field, substitutes for one year of experience
- Five (5) years of experience managing multiple, cross functional projects at large organization.
- Experience in transit, transportation, or similar operating industrial environment.
