Job summary

Carter's Inc. in Atlanta is looking for an Operations Analyst to optimize buying, forecasting and inventory management across our baby and children's brands.

The role supports profitability by aligning product availability with demand, coordinating with factories, warehouses and sales teams, and driving data-driven improvements. You will monitor orders, analyze inventory levels and publish forecasts to guide decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Management and Forecasting principles.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and communicator skills.
  • Ability to influence across teams and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Buy/Forecasting: create and maintain buys for all business units, adjust based on demand and supply conditions.
  • Order management: monitor purchase orders, assess delivery issues, coordinate with transportation and warehouse teams for on-time shipments.
  • WIP inventory management/Reporting/Projects: analyze on-hand inventory, provide weekly cross-functional reports, lead high-priority process improvement projects.

This role involves making daily decisions that maximize profitability and has a large impact on sales, margin, and inventory.50%: Buying/Forecasting Create and maintain buys for all business units, including any negotiations with factories on delays, shortages, or overages Execute necessary revisions to buys, driven by changes in customer demand and/or changes in global supply chain operation Monitor vendor performance and execute any logistic changes needed to meet expected deliverables Manage the physical flow of inventory to support both customer demand and warehouse capacities Publish monthly costing and capacity supply forecasts to factories, sourcing, and production teams30%: Order management Proactively monitors and analyzes customer purchase orders and all related aspects. Determine the business impact of any delivery issues, prioritize, and communicate any issues related to product flow as they arise Communicate with transportation/warehouse teams to execute shipments to customers on time. Compile all necessary documentation for customer item setups and customs compliance for import into final country destinations Meet with external customer teams to provide information and support as needed for clear communication and positive results20%: WIP inventory management/Reporting/Project Management Manage weekly Clubs inbound inventory/WIP Analyze on-hand inventory files and communicate with sales team and internal partners Collaborate with transportation, DC, and Sales daily to maximize revenue goals Provide weekly reporting to cross-functional teams on operational performance of the brand Work independently on projects for high-priority programs Proactively uncover opportunities to improve processes and create efficient toolsWE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:Must have: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Customer focused and have a sense of urgency Ability to multitask with shifting priorities Solid understanding of Inventory Management and Forecasting principles Strong numeric, analytical, and critical thinking skills Ability to combine analytical skills with practical business knowledge Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills Ability to work across organizational boundaries and levels Understand financial impact of decisions Proactively identifies and implements process improvements to generate additional revenue and reduce non-value add work Process improvement minded Create reports to provide detailed data regarding historical order and shipping patternsPreferred skills and experience: Supply Chain related degree & APICS certified preferredMAKE A CAREER AT CARTER'S: Career Development: Success starts from within, and we have several paths from which you can choose to enhance your career evolution.
