Job summary

Fervo Energy offers an OT security internship where you will join the Operational Technology team to help secure ICS and OT assets. You’ll gain hands-on experience securing industrial networks and participate in risk assessments while collaborating with Operations and IT.

During the 12-week program you’ll document findings, present results to leadership, and contribute to the security posture of a large geothermal operations project.

Position Description

Fervo Energy is developing next-generation geothermal power to deliver firm, carbon-free energy at scale, anchored by our flagship Cape Station development in Milford, Utah, one of the largest next-generation geothermal developments in the world. As an OT Intern, you'll join Fervo's Operational Technology team to help secure the industrial control systems that keep our geothermal operations running safely and reliably.

Required Qualifications

• Rising Junior, Senior, or Master's candidate in Operational Technology (Critical Infrastructure) Security wrapping up within the next year, or PhD candidate — we’re building a pipeline toward full-time offers


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership


• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new challenges


• Interest or coursework in Operational Technology (OT) security

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with NERC CIP, NIST 800-82r3, or ISA/IEC 62443 standards
