The position of Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting Granger National Bank's daily operational functions and ensuring accurate and efficient processing of deposit operations, cash management services, fraud monitoring, account maintenance, and regulatory reporting. This individual will be responsible for a variety of operational processes that support customers, branch personnel, and the Bank's overall compliance objectives.
In addition, this person may be required to assist with new deposit accounts, teller functions, and other bank operations as needed.
Duties
Responsible for the following duties, including but are not limited to the following:
- Reviews ATM deposits and performs ATM balancing and reconciliation.
- Reviews mobile deposits through the Bank's remote deposit capture platforms.
- Assists customers and branch personnel with online banking maintenance, password resets, and account access issues.
- Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers in accordance with Bank policy and regulatory requirements.
- Processes ACH transactions and supports cash management services for business customers.
- Establishes and maintains Corporate Capture and other treasury management services.
- Investigates and processes debit card fraud claims, chargebacks, and related disputes.
- Processes debit card limit increase requests and travel notifications.
- Establishes and maintains GoBanking accounts and related digital banking services.
- Processes stop payment requests and maintain related documentation.
- Research and processes notifications of death and applicable account maintenance requirements.
- Reviews, research, and processes check adjustments and account exceptions.
- Research and resolve NSF and unposted item exceptions.
- Reviews daily operational reports, including new accounts, closed accounts, large transactions, and overdrawn accounts.
- Processes charge-offs for deposit accounts and loans in accordance with Bank policy.
- Prepares dormant and inactive account notices and maintains required documentation.
- Maintains accurate documentation relating to account closures and operational records.
- Reviews duplicate check reports and conduct necessary research and follow-up.
- Processes customer check orders and reorder requests.
- Assists with the preparation of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), International Transaction Reports, and High-Risk Account reporting.
- Assists with BSA-related reporting and periodic Board reports.
- Participates in fraud research, monitoring, and processing activities.
- Assists with vendor management documentation and ongoing vendor due diligence requirements.
- Provides support to all assigned areas of the department where service or assistance is needed and serves as backup for other operational functions.
- Responds to customer and employee inquiries while providing prompt and professional service.
- Reviews work for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Assists management with operational audits, examinations, and documentation requests.

Experience

- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school; or three years of related banking experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work-related experience should consist of financial institution operations, deposit operations, customer service, treasury management, or compliance-related responsibilities.
- Intermediate knowledge of bank operations, deposit account processing, debit card services, wire transfers, ACH processing, and fraud prevention procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of BSA/AML requirements, CTR and SAR reporting, and related state and federal banking regulations.
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; core banking systems; online banking platforms; and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Intermediate knowledge of general office practices and customer service standards.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate balances, identify discrepancies, and work accurately with currency, coin, and negotiable instruments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive customer and Bank information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
