Now that you know our history, are you ready to be part of our future?

Job Overview:

The Operational Resilience Risk Manager supports the Firm’s Operational Resilience Framework by executing and enhancing processes designed to identify, protect, respond to, and recover from actual or potential operational disruptions. The role evaluates whether critical business services can remain within defined impact tolerances through robust business continuity planning, disaster recovery capabilities, dependency mapping, and scenario testing. This includes assessing resilience across technology, data, personnel, and third‑party dependencies to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and internal risk standards.

This role requires close coordination across Enterprise Risk Management, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and business stakeholders to maintain an integrated and enterprise‑wide resilience posture. The candidate must be capable of operating independently within a Second Line of Defense model while providing structured oversight, credible challenge, and actionable reporting. Responsibilities may intersect with strategic initiatives, regulatory change, digital transformation efforts, and new product or platform implementations. Strong critical thinking, writing, presenting, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Given the dynamic nature of this role, curiosity to learn about all portions of the business and high responsiveness to internal and external events are extremely important.

We’ll trust you to:

Program Execution & Governance

  • Support the execution and continuous enhancement of the Firm’s Operational Resilience Framework, including Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management programs along with associated policies, standards, methodologies, and supporting procedures.
  • Maintain and refine governance structures supporting Operational Resilience, including as chair of the Enterprise Resilience Council, working groups, and escalation forums.
  • Partner with business units and technology teams to guide development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, and Area Response Plans.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to strengthen accountability for resilience preparedness across the Firm.
  • Ensure program alignment with evolving regulatory guidance (eg. Reg S‑P, DORA), supervisory expectations, industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST), internal risk appetite, and business strategy.

Business Impact Analysis, Testing, and Reporting

  • Conduct and maintain Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) within the Business Continuity Management (BCM) platform to identify Important Business Services and Critical Processes.
  • Map dependencies across technology, personnel, data, facilities, and third parties to assess operational interconnectivity and concentration risk.
  • Coordinate and document resilience testing activities, including enterprise tabletop exercises, business continuity tests, disaster recovery tests, and emergency notification exercises.
  • Document testing outcomes, identify control gaps, and track remediation efforts to closure.
  • Support fund board and executive management reporting and preparation of materials for governance committees, external assessments, and regulators.
  • Develop and maintain resilience metrics, dashboards, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide transparency into operational risk exposure.

Crisis Management, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence

  • Support oversight of Crisis Management and Incident Response across the firm.
  • Assist in response coordination during material operational incidents and perform post‑incident analysis / After‑Action Reviews to strengthen future response capabilities.
  • Leverage Threat Intelligence resources to identify systemic themes or recurring vulnerabilities impacting the industry and elevate material risks through appropriate governance channels.
  • Ability to quickly consume and analyze emerging and current events that may impact operations across the firm.
You’ll need to have:
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Resilience frameworks, Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to asset managers (e.g., SEC, DORA, NIST, ISO standards).
  • CBCP, ABCP, CompTA SEC+ or other relevant resilience or risk certifications.
  • Understanding of operational risk disciplines including risk assessment, risk taxonomy, issue management, and metrics development.
  • Veterans Welcomed: Experienced Non‑Commissioned Officers or Officers are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in crisis management and detailed contingency planning are beneficial.
  • Education: Employer seeks individuals with a bachelor’s degree, with a graduate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Communication skills: In executing their duties, this role must communicate with various audiences, including business leaders, clients, team members, and engineers. It is important that they have great verbal communication skills to convey information to the relevant audience. They also require exceptional written communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Teamwork abilities: The candidate is expected to work with various multi‑disciplinary teams, so it is vital that they are team‑oriented individuals with priority on the successful completion of group goals.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills: It is also essential that applicants have the necessary skills to constantly monitor the process to identify emerging gaps or issues and proactively execute changes.
