Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. in Jackson, MS seeks an experienced procurement leader to manage daily purchasing operations for switchgear components. You will create POs, track deliveries, expediting where needed, and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with AP and QA teams.

You will ensure material availability for Existing & Blue Horizon volumes by aligning schedules with project timelines, monitor supplier performance, negotiate terms, and uphold data integrity in SAP MM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in operational procurement or supply chain management, preferably in energy/industrial sectors.
  • Strong expertise in procurement and supplier relationship management (SRM).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM) and data analysis/reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute daily purchasing operations, including PO creation, tracking, and expediting for switchgear components.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality issues with accounts payable and QA teams.
  • Ensure material availability for Existing & Blue Horizon volumes by aligning procurement with project timelines.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on supplier performance metrics (OTD, quality) to support improvements.
  • Negotiate operational terms, lead times, and pricing with local/international suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Optimize procurement workflows and master data maintenance within ERP systems (SAP) to ensure data integrity.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Lead and execute daily purchasing operations, including purchase order (PO) creation, tracking, and expediting for switchgear components.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality issues in collaboration with accounts payable and quality assurance teams.
  • Ensure material availability for ‘Existing & Blue Horizon’ volume by aligning procurement schedules with project timelines and production demands.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on supplier performance metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD) and quality to support continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate operational terms, lead times, and pricing with local and international suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Optimize operational procurement workflows and master data maintenance within ERP systems (SAP) to ensure data integrity.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in operational procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the energy, grid technologies, or heavy manufacturing sector. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level and vice versa
  • Strong expertise in procurement and supply chain management, including operational procurement and supplier relationship management (SRM).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM) and data analysis/reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
