Job summary

Lynker Technologies is seeking an Operational Hydrologist to join our team at the Atlanta site. You will lead design, testing, and implementation of FIRO tools and other hydrologic models within the NWS SERFC environment. You will collaborate with Lynker and partner researchers to ensure reliable public-safety forecasts.

The role requires advanced hydrology education (Ph.D. or Master’s with experience) and strong programming skills (Python/R).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Hydrology or related field or a Master’s with 2+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with hydrologic models and forecasting concepts.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
• Strong written and oral communication across multi-organization partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead FIRO tool design, testing, and experimental deployment in the SERFC environment.
• Perform hydrologic research including model development, calibration, testing and verification.
• Support integration of new tools with CHPS and ensure robustness for public safety forecasts.
• Analyze data to evaluate model performance, ensemble forecasts, and reservoir inflow predictions.
