Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions (KNS) in Aiken, SC, is seeking a mid-career Operational Estimator to support quantity takeoffs, estimating, scheduling support, and change order preparation on nuclear projects. This on-site role collaborates with civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of estimating experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years in estimating and quantity takeoffs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail; ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret RFPs, specs, and drawings.
  • Perform quantity takeoff, estimating, pricing, and change proposal development.
  • Conduct site walks as needed to support estimating and change scopes.
  • Support preconstruction activities including Class 3–5 estimates and value-engineering.
  • Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers for constructability input.
  • Participate in planning sessions with estimators and engineers/designers.

This role will support quantity takeoffs, estimating, schedule support, and change order preparation.

Location

This position is based in Aiken, SC. Daily site attendence is required.

Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, and interpret RFPs, specifications, and drawings
  • Perform tasks related to quantity takeoff, estimating, pricing, and change proposal development
  • Perform project site walks as needed to support estimating and change proposal scopes
  • Support preconstruction efforts, to involvement in Class 3/4/5 estimates, and value-engineering efforts

  • Participate in the planning process brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers

Qualifications
