Job summary

SMX is seeking a consultant to improve Army audit readiness and support financial audit activities. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to understand the mission and objectives, ensuring systems meet audit requirements and stakeholder needs.

The role requires on-site presence at Ft. Belvoir, active Top Secret clearance with SCI, and 3+ years of federal audit experience. A bachelor's degree is required and SAP/GFEBS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Active TS clearance with SCI; ability to work on-site at Ft. Belvoir.
  • Experience performing Federal Financial Audit and/or Audit Readiness: FISCAM, FIAR, SSAE 18, FedRAMP or similar.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills; able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Army systems and business processes; experience with SAP ERP systems.

Job description

SMX is looking for a consultant to aid our clients in improving Army's audit readiness efforts within the command. Our consultants work closely with our clients to understand the mission and strategic objectives to ensure the systems are designed to meet their audit business needs. The consultant will help our national security functional experts navigate a complex and changing business landscape. Our consultants solve our client’s complex issues by learning the intricacies of the problem set at hand, the client’s objectives, and the operational environment in which results must be implemented to create holistic solutions with high impact. The consultant will work on a multi-disciplinary team that has direct partnerships with end-users within the command and stakeholders within Army. This is a fast-changing role that evolves based on the client’s need, while prioritizing the operational needs to support the mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support command in managing Army Financial Audit, Audit Readiness, Internal Assessments, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support audit engagements by assisting with process and documentation requests.
  • Support operational audit activities, such as research and analysis and systemic activities.
  • Document and analyze business processes and perform internal assessments of controls. Knowledge of RMF and other internal assessment requirements.
  • Assist in the development and execution of short- and long-term strategies to achieve “Audit Readiness”. The focus will be on creating and executing enterprise-wide strategies.
  • Work with other Army organizations to support audit readiness.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to be on-site 100% of the time at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; currently partial telework exists, but is not guaranteed.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI.
  • Ability to collaborate within the team cross-functionally in a rapidly changing mission-oriented work environment.
  • At least three years of performing Federal Financial Audit and/or Audit Readiness: FISCAM, FIAR, SSAE 18, FedRAMP, other Audit Policy, Regulation and Attest Engagements.
  • Supporting a Financial Statement Audit or FFMIA engagement is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Army systems and business processes.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong professional, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Experience working within SAP ERP Systems; GFEBS/GFEBS-SA is preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited University/College.
  • Customer serving personality within a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with Training Management Tool (TMT)/Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2)
  • GFEBS Exposure

The proposed salary for this position is:: $90,000 USD - $140,000 USD
