Job summary

Evolution Well Services is seeking an OSC Technician to ensure documentation and data related to breakdowns and mid-stage shutdowns are collected, and to support during ENPT events. You will help complete projects timely and verify rapid field response.

You will work with the asset team to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, program PLCs and related devices, and contribute to safety programs while supporting pad startups and ongoing operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Daily in-person attendance in The Woodlands, TX.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical college training preferred; 5 years electronics experience or an Associates degree.
  • Oilfield experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily safe operations per company policies.

  • Assist Asset Integrity Team as needed.
  • Perform other duties to support operations.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

OSC Technician will ensure that all data and equipment malfunction documentation is being gathered in relation to break downs, mid stage shutdowns and any information surrounding mid stage shutdowns. OSC Technician will actively be assisting during ENPT events and will be a part of the meetings surrounding the shutdown. OSC Technician will ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and will verify quick response to the field is being accomplished.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs daily safe operations according to company policies.
  • Troubleshoots and performs necessary electrical repairs to malfunctioning equipment during rig up processes and/or during normal operations.
  • Programs software parameters to PLCs, VFDS, routers, switches, berthold, and other related programmable equipment.
  • Participates in company safety initiatives including daily programs (written documentation, observations, etc.) and adheres to policies and procedures to ensure the wellbeing of all employees and drive operational excellence.
  • Works as a team with the fleet technicians and Electrical Supervisors to manage efficiencies when starting up new pads before well open.
  • Complies with all government, industry and EVO regulations and standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
  • High proficiency in the maintenance of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate, consistent with the company’s Operational Training Matrix and employee’s progression plans.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
  • Collaborates and finds guidance through the Asset Integrity Team group of SMEs for direct hands‑on approach if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre‑employment testing including but not limited to background check, pre‑employment drug screening, pre‑employment fit tests, pre‑employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3 years U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Daily in‑person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE LEVEL
  • U.S. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical College Training preferred.
  • 5 years previous electronics experience required OR Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • Previous oilfield experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and recertification training.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 hour shifts for 14 consecutive days.
  • Ability to lead a team in focused discussions around electrical safety and electrical practices.
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of fracturing equipment.
  • Highly proficient in usage of multimeter testing device.
  • Demonstrated ability to prove high aptitude in technical skillsets and competencies as listed.
  • In depth proficiency in the communication of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
  • Intermediate mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to receive instruction well and interact in a positive manner within assigned work groups.
  • Possess intermediate interpersonal skills.
  • Possess the ability to plan and execute electronics projects on site.
  • Possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft platforms.
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment, adapt to change and receptive to new instructions.
  • Fully knowledgeable, compliant and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn company platforms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. When required to go to a wellsite, employees will rideshare with multiple employees. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, arc flash suits, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, high voltage gloves, and impact gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Electronic Technicians are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, Electronic Technicians must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50–100 lbs. with a team lift.

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
