Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech I for Jersey City Medical Center's Operating Room. The role supports the surgical team under the supervision of the RN, assisting the surgeon and staff before, during, and after procedures.

The candidate will scrub for diverse service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, and trauma. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Surgical Technician training, 2–3 years of OR experience, NBSTSA certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Surgical Technician training completed.
• 2–3 years of experience preferred.
• Experience scrubbing multiple service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Member of the surgical team, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, delivering patient care with surgeon and RN before, during and after surgery.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining sterile field and equipment; participate in patient safety and outcomes.
