United Health Services is seeking a part-time Operating Room Surgical Technician in Binghamton, NY. You will support the surgeon with sterile technique, prepare instruments, and maintain an organized operative field throughout cases.

The role requires a high school diploma and NYS Surgical Technologist certification (CPR within 3 months). Previous OR or Surgical Technologist experience is preferred. Work a day shift with 24 hours weekly and rotating call duties.

Under general direction, observes and practices sterile technique, maintains asepsis, anticipates and assists the surgeon as needed. Actively participates in patient care and safety. Utilizes OR supplies conservatively and operates as a team member of the OR staff. Schedule: Part-time, Day shift, 24 hours weekly.**Primary Department, Division, or Unit:**Operating Room, UHS Binghamton General Hospital**Primary Work Shift:**Day**Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours:**24**Compensation Range:**$25.27 - $37.90 per hour, depending on experience----- **Responsibilities:*** Follows Infection Control policies and procedures and demonstrates expertise in surgical scrub technique.* Adheres to principles of sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively.* Assists the surgeon when needed gowning, gloving, draping, and passing of instruments and other related items during the procedure. Anticipates the surgeon’s need for instruments, sutures, and equipment.* Maintains an organized operative field at all times by keeping the instruments clean and in their proper place.* Keeps an accurate sponge, tape, needle, dissector, and instrument count.* Prepares for cases by assembling supplies and equipment in accordance with preference cards and identifies conflicts or problems.
