Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our West OR team for a 30-hour weekly schedule with day shifts. You will support high-acuity surgeries in a Magnet-recognized, teaching hospital environment.

The role requires OR experience, MA RN license, BLS, and Periop 101, with opportunities for advanced perioperative training, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• License Registered Nurse required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1–3 years of related OR nursing experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers (data entry, web-based applications).
• Periop 101 program completion preferred or required.
• Preferred: Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
• Coordinates patient care and delegates to assistive personnel.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Maintains annual mandatory education and participates in professional development.
• Contributes to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
