Job summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a full-time OR RN for our outpatient surgery center in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Orientation is 3–6 months with hands-on learning and CNOR resources. Onsite shifts run 0700–1730; no call, no weekends or holidays.

Required: Active New York nursing license or ability to obtain, and an Associate degree in Nursing. BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred and achievable during intro period.

Qualifications

• Active New York nursing license or ability to obtain.
• Associates Degree in Nursing.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires can obtain during introductory period).

Responsibilities

• Consults and coordinates with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Assesses patient condition via history, vitals, tests and reports abnormalities.
• Conducts pre- and post-operative education for patients and families.
• Utilizes Universal Protocol per Cayuga Medical Center policy.
• Communicates and documents patient responses to interventions to the surgical team.
