Job summary

McLean Tysons Orthopedic Surgery Center, LLC is seeking a full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our busy ambulatory surgery center in McLean, VA. The OR nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe perioperative care.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license in Virginia, with 1 year of OR/ASC experience preferred, and current BLS. ACLS/PALS and CNOR are desirable; no weekends or holidays specified.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice required
• 1 year OR/ASC experience preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred
• CNOR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, and informed consent per protocols
• Act as circulating and/or scrub nurse ensuring aseptic technique
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses under surgeon/ anesthesia provider
• Document intraoperative care, implants and specimens in the medical record
• Provide safe patient positioning, padding, and transfer with the team
• Handle and dispose of instruments, specimens and biohazard materials safely
• Support postoperative handoff to recovery with clear communication
• Participate in quality assurance, infection prevention and performance improvement initiatives
• Adhere to CMS, AAAHC, The Joint Commission and related regulations
