Job summary

Orlando Health in Clermont, FL is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This full-time role supports acute care, with day shifts and a focus on complex patient care in a high-stakes environment.

The OR RN provides specialized nursing care, administers treatments, collaborates with physicians and staff, and ensures patient safety and continuity of care. Requires Florida RN license and BLS; previous OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
• 1 year of Registered Nurse experience is required. Surgery and/or Operating Room experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient focused action.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays (e.g., intracranial pressures, CVP, PA pressures, rhythms).
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observes, monitors, and assesses patients’ condition and takes appropriate action when needed.
• Assesses patient needs and develops a care plan; evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to team members on a defined group of patients.
• Documents patient care meeting standards; includes assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety.
• Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and unit equipment; adheres to Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
• Communicates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage unit/department.
