Job summary

River Prairie Surgery Center in Altoona, WI is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to manage perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The RN will support the surgical team with patient assessment, medication administration, and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.

Qualified candidates hold a Wisconsin RN license, ADN or higher, BLS at hire, and preferably OR experience. This role requires on-site work with potential on-call duties and a commitment to

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Current RN licensure in Wisconsin
• BLS certification required on hire
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire
• Previous operating room experience preferred
• Must possess a cell phone for secure messaging

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients’ rights and provide compassionate care
• Assess patient health problems and coordinate with healthcare team
• Provide direct patient care and administer medications
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care
• Prepare operating room and monitor equipment; maintain asepsis
• Respond to emergencies and document care accurately
• Perform pre-procedural time-outs and surgical site identifications
• Coordinate hand-off communication with PACU RNs
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed
• Cross-training to other nursing departments may occur
