Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to maintain sterile technique, prep patients for surgery, and support the perioperative team with a patient-centered approach.

Ideal candidates have an accredited nursing degree, at least 1 year OR experience, TX RN license or compact, BLS/ACLS, and CNOR is preferred; we offer mentorship, education support, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience.
• Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain TX license within 90 days.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CNOR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and assist in procedures.
• Prepare areas for diffe rent procedures.
• Assess patient pre-surgery and confirm consent and timeout.
• Demonstrate teamwork and support the Surgical Services team.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care and uphold professionalism.
