Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT, is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to deliver safe, high-quality intraoperative care. You will perform circulating and scrub duties, assist with patient positioning, site prep, instrumentation, and sterile technique.

Full-time Day Shift with rotating weekends/holidays and on-call requirements. Requires an Associate’s degree in Nursing and CT RN license; 1+ year intraoperative nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• Ideal candidates must have 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience.

Position Purpose

At Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Operating Room RN delivers safe, high-quality care to surgical patients.

What You Will Do

• Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties, including patient positioning, site prep, instrumentation, and sterile technique.

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.

• Valid RN license in Connecticut.

• Ideal candidates must have 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience.

Preferred

• Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross)

• Familiarity with AORN standards

Important Consideration ***

This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training through the Periop 101 program. Candidates must be able to function independently in the OR .

Position Highlights

• Full-Time: 40 hrs/week - Day Shift

• Rotating weekends/holidays; on-call required

• Specialty pay is available exclusively to experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience

• Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95
