Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse - OR Circulator for a full-time, permanent position in Connecticut. The role offers a predictable day schedule with no night shifts, no weekends, and no holidays, in a supportive Ambulatory Surgery Center environment focused on orthopedics.

The OR Circulator will prepare the OR, assist the surgical team, monitor patient status, and coordinate post-operative care while maintaining strict sterile technique and patient safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of circulating experience in the operating room, including orthopedics.
• CT RN licensure and active, unrestricted practice.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery and set up instruments in a sterile field.
• Verify patient identity and review procedures to prevent errors.
• Assess patients pre-operatively and provide comfort and reassurance.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Communicate patient information with the team and maintain safety.
• Monitor vital signs and patient safety during surgery.
• Coordinate post-operative care and room turnover.
• Document actions and continuing care requirements for patients.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain competency.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Full time, Permanent Registered Nurse - OR Circulator to join our dynamic healthcare team.

Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s, Day shift, cases start at 7am. No nights, No weekends, No holidays, No call

Responsibilities

1. Preparing the operating room for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions
2. Adhering to safety standards and precautions, including verifying patient identity and reviewing surgical procedures to prevent errors
3. Assessing patients before surgery (e.g., NPO status) and comforting them while alleviating their anxiety
4. Assisting surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and other sterile supplies
5. Working together with the surgical team, communicating patient information, and ensuring patient safety during the operation
6. Monitoring patient's vital signs and maintaining patient's safety during the operation
7. Coordinating post-operative care, including patient recovery and room turnover
8. Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing patient care requirements
9. Participating in ongoing educational activities to maintain competency and improve professional skills

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
2. Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
3. A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience in an operating room, including experience in orthopedics
4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
5. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred
6. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
8. Proficient in the use of medical software and equipment
