Responsibilities

• Identify patient and verify chart and procedure site.
• Plan, implement and evaluate the patient care plan in the OR; supervise staff.
• Assist surgeon and anesthetist; ensure proper technique and safety.
• Report any changes in patient condition.
• Circulating Nurse: prepare room, gather supplies, review chart and records.
• Scrub Nurse: prepare equipment and packs; maintain counts.
