Job summary

Trinity Park Surgery Center in Arlington, Texas, seeks an Operating Room Nurse specializing in orthopedic cases to join a dedicated team focused on safe, patient‑centered care and continuous learning.

You will evaluate patients pre‑op, educate families, prepare for surgery, participate in site verifications, handle emergencies, and collaborate with providers, techs and nurses to ensure smooth transfer to recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS as required by facility.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Assess patient condition and document changes thoroughly.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an Operating Room Nurse that specializes in Orthopedic cases for our ambulatory surgery center who demonstrates the values of our company by caring like family. You will be an amazing addition to our team by contributing your expertise in the circulating or scrub role. You will ensure safe and effective nursing care until your patient is transferred from your care to recovery.

What you will do in this role:

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery

• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process

• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification

• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy

• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives

• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more

• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients

• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly

• Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures

Qualifications you will need:
