Job summary

The Phoebe Putney Health System in Georgia is seeking an LPN to assist in the operating room under supervision of a Registered Nurse and physician. You will pull cases per doctor preference cards, help maintain a sterile field, and support team readiness for scheduled procedures.

The role requires completion of a Practical Nursing program and BCLS, with RN licensure in Georgia preferred; 1+ year of practical nursing experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree in Practical Nursing required.
• 1+ years Practical Nursing experience preferred.
• RN license in the state of Georgia required.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with surgical procedures in collaboration with Registered Nurse.
• Pull cases according to doctor preference cards.
• Maintain and prepare sterile field.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Anticipate needs of surgeon.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments, sutures, etc.
• Develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.
• Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team.
• Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner.
• Documents implementation and includes changes or omissions of the identified plan.
• Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
