Qualifications

• Education: Less than a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of housekeeping experience.
• Completion of the Operating Room Training Program within nine months of hire.
• Must obtain OR cleaning certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains departmental policies and safety/infection control standards.
• Performs terminal cleaning of OR rooms and prepares rooms for next case.
• Cleans and disinfects floors per protocols.
• Moves equipment and furniture in OR rooms per cleaning procedures.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
• Participates in training and in-service meetings; obtain/maintain OR cleaning certification.
• Buffs, strips, waxes, polishes, and top scrubs floors.
• Performs regular housekeeping in non-patient OR areas.
