Job summary

Providence's St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA is seeking an Operating Room Assistant for a part-time day-shift role. You will help ensure equipment is ready for each surgical case and assist nursing staff with room setup, turnover, and patient handling under supervision.

Additionally, you will help maintain a safe, clean operating room environment and support team members with turning, lifting, and transporting patients. National Provider BLS is required on hire.

Qualifications

• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.

• Assist nursing personnel in room setup & turnover and in patient handling (turning, lifting, transporting).

Job description

Operating Room Assistant at St Joepsh Hospital in Orange, CA. This position is Part -Time and will work 8-hour Day shifts.

Under the immediate supervision of the Lead Support Technician and the general direction of the Clinical Coordinator or Charge Nurse, the Support Tech provides ancillary services in the Operating Room. The three major responsibilities consist of the following: 1) ensuring the availability of well-functioning equipment for every surgical case, 2) assisting nursing personnel in room set up & turnover and in selected patient support services such as turning, lifting, and transporting patients, and 3) maintaining a safe and clean work environment in the O.R. suites and peripheral areas.
