Job summary

Beyond New Horizons is seeking an Operating Engineer Lead at Arnold AFB, TN to support Test Operations. Two full-time positions will lead craftspeople in mechanical, electrical, and testing tasks in a high-hazard facility environment.

Candidates must have six years of experience or equivalent, be able to obtain security clearance, and be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience as an Operating Engineer in aeronautical test labs or equivalent large manufacturing plants.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English to safely understand technical manuals and instructions.
• U.S. citizenship required due to DoD security requirements.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Operating Engineer Lead, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The Operating Engineer Lead will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will under general supervision, server as a working group leader over lower grade craftsman, who directs and performs a wide variety of technical, mechanical, electrical, and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an Engineering Test Facility.

Job Duties

• Prepares plant equipment for operations
• Troubleshoots operating equipment in case of malfunctions
• Operates equipment during tests
• Installs and maintains facility systems
• Accomplishes maintenance and servicing as required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation with a high degree of skill
• Use a wide variety of hand and machine tools, complex measuring and testing equipment and other equipment as required to accomplish the operations
• It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
• Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Six years of experience as an Operation Engineer in the working or operating section of an Aeronautical Test Laboratory, OR eight years of experience on equipment in a large manufacturing plant with large hydraulic systems with operating pressures above 1500 psi, high and/or low-pressure process control valves, evaporators, and/or compressed air or water systems
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to safely understand and execute technical manuals, technical drawings, diagrams, sketches, safety procedures, and operational instructions
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and satisfy requirements for access to the AEDC local area network
• Current U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Defense security and federal contract requirements at AEDC

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computers is required
• Must be able to direct the work of others
• Ability to skillfully operate and work with a wide variety of hand and machine tools

A24 : $40.37 - $44.86 /hour at Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
