Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to administer and optimize OVE environments for a client in Utah. The role focuses on Windows/Linux VM lifecycles, storage via Portworx, and maintaining platform reliability.

You will implement automation, templates, and documentation, collaborate with server, storage, network, security, and application teams, and ensure high availability, DR readiness, and steady performance across compute, storage, and networking layers.

Qualifications

Day-to-day

One of Insights Global's clients is looking for an OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to come join their team. This individual will be responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine (OVE) environments. That host enterprise Windows and Linux virtual machine workloads. They will manage the full virtual machine lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning, while ensuring platform stability, performance, and availability. They will also serve as the primary owner of Portworx Enterprise storage services. Supporting KubeVirt-based virtual machines through storage provisioning, replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations. They will monitor the health of virtualization platforms across compute, storage, networking, and operating system layers and proactively resolve issues to maintain a resilient infrastructure. Additionally, they will support workload and storage migrations from Vmware into OpenShift Virtualization environments. Finally they will be responsible for developing automation, VM templates, technical documentation, and operational standards that improve efficiency and consistency across the platform. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong expertise in enterprise virtualization, Linux administration, high availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation. As well as someone who collaborates effectively with server, storage, network, security, and application teams. The target pay for this role is $70-$75hr.
