Job summary

A leading technology firm is looking for an experienced Open-Source DBA to manage various databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in database management and architecture, proven skills in scripting and automation, and familiarity with cloud technologies. Responsibilities include database installations, security configurations, and troubleshooting. This is a long-term position based in Alpharetta, GA, offering a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with various databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Cassandra, and Cosmos DB.
• 2+ years architecting and maintaining complex relational databases for web applications.
• 2+ years automating day-to-day NoSQL operations.
• 2+ years of experience with Python, PowerShell, and system administration.
• 2+ years working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and Azure.
• 2+ years’ experience with Windows OS, Unix, and Linux.

• Identify database bottlenecks and provide remediation steps.
• Design and implement security configuration including grants, roles, and profiles.
• Install and configure database software and perform database upgrades.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and utilize AWR, ADDM, ASH, and other tools to ensure resource sizing is sufficient
• Identify database bottlenecks, provide remediation steps, implement database backup solutions, and perform database restore actions
• Design and implement security configuration including grants, roles, and profiles
• Perform database security monitoring, auditing, implementing security standards, tuning anddesign, size, and implement enterprise level database systems
• Install and configure database software and Perform database upgrade and patching
• Complete database migrations from legacy to new hardware
• Design and implement Percona MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, and other database clustering solutions
• Perform OS troubleshooting, server capacity planning, and resource analysis

Skills and Experience Required:

Required:

• Database Management: 5+ years of experience working with various databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Cassandra, and Cosmos DB.
• Database Architecture & Maintenance: 2+ years architecting and maintaining complex relational databases for web applications, including experience with Open-Source databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• NoSQL Automation: 2+ years automating day-to-day NoSQL operations, including security, index maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, and installation.
• Scripting & Automation: 2+ years of experience with Python, PowerShell, and system administration across RedHat Linux, Mac OS, IIS, and Active Directory.
• Cloud Technologies: 2+ years working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and Azure.
• Operating Systems: 2+ years’ experience with Windows OS, Unix, and Linux operating systems.

Desired:

• Experience in the financial services or credit processing domains

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
