Job summary

The Department of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking two full-time, tenured or tenure-track, open rank faculty members. The standard teaching load is four courses per year, with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2027.

Compensation starts at a minimum of $88,000 on a 9-month academic basis. Qualified applicants must hold a PhD/Doctorate in social work or a related field (ABD considered if completion is imminent).

Qualifications

• PhD/Doctorate in social work or a related field; ABD considered if completion imminent.
• MSW degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to produce significant research.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with community partners.

Responsibilities

• Advance a robust program of research while maintaining teaching and mentorship.
• Provide service to the department, university, profession, and community.
• Teach four courses per year (two per semester).
• Open rank, tenured or tenure-track, 9‑month appointment starting August 23, 2027.
