Job summary

The University of New Mexico invites applications for a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist to join the Division of Surgical Oncology as an Open Rank faculty member, with emphasis on complex general surgical oncology and primary duties in melanoma, sarcoma and GI oncology.

The UNM Hospital and School of Medicine are the state’s tertiary referral center, hosting a growing CGSO program within an NCI-designated Cancer Center, and offering active teaching and research opportunities.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor or equivalent and board certification in General Surgery.
• Graduate of an accredited CGSO fellowship (or equivalent).
• Eligible for medical licensure in New Mexico and to work in the United States.
• Qualified for Open Rank faculty appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for melanoma, sarcoma and GI oncology patients.
• Educate residents, fellows and medical students.
• Engage in clinical research and participate in tumor boards.
