Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks a tenure-eligible open rank faculty member in Health Intervention & Implementation Science within the Department of Public Health Sciences. The candidate will build and lead a multidisciplinary program focused on cancer prevention through nutrition/obesity in rural and underserved communities in UVA Cancer Center’s catchment and beyond.

Preference given to expertise in implementation science and nutrition/obesity/child health, with potential to join UVA Cancer

Qualifications

• Education: Ph.D. in nutrition, public health, implementation science, behavioral science, or related field.
• Experience: Expertise in design/evaluation of behavioral interventions and effectiveness/hybrid trials.
• Record: Peer-reviewed scholarship commensurate with academic rank.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a multidisciplinary research program on cancer prevention in rural/low-resource communities.
• Collaborate across CORC/CORC and UVA Cancer Center to expand research portfolio.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and service appropriate to rank.
• Lead and secure external funding for sustained research.
