Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Tire Technician for our Cortez operations. You will maintain tires on mine equipment and passenger vehicles, ensure proper air pressures and tread depths, and replace worn tires to keep our fleets safe and productive.

The role requires basic mechanical knowledge, safety focus, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with a rotating day/night schedule. Join a dynamic, safety‑driven mining team with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of maintenance experience on mobile and off‑road equipment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all tires on mine equipment, including passenger light vehicles and all off road vehicles.
• Maintain correct air pressures and tread depths.
• Inspect and remove worn or failed tires and install replacement tires.
• Repair all repairable tires.
• Complete routine maintenance activities to ensure availability and safe functioning of large mining fleets.
• Maintain shop areas, tools, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in hazard identification processes.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
• Perform other duties as assigned
