Job summary

Applicants should have a minimum of two years scrub experience in a major operating room, and at least one year as an Open Heart Scrub Technician. An accredited surgical technologist program is required.

Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine

Qualifications

Education

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a surgical technologist program that is accredited by a national accrediting organization or a successor organization or must have successfully completed a training program for surgical technologist administered by the US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years scrubbing experience in a major operating room, and at least one (1) year of experience as an Open Heart Scrub Technician.
