Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Open Heart Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. The role involves pulling cases, scrubbing, and assisting physicians during cardiac procedures, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program with active certification (Surgical Tech) and current BLS, and has prior open-heart or OR experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Surgical Technician certification required.
• BLS Certification current.
• 1 Year of surgery experience preferred in Open heart, General, GYN, Urology, Plastics, and Orthopedics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pulling cases, scrubbing cases and assisting the physician with surgery.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient growth and development and care appropriate to ages served.
• Promote customer service initiatives and compassionate, holistic care.
• Function as scrub person during operative procedures and perform technical skills as assigned.
• Assist in intra-operative care of the patient with dedicated duties.
• Support the rights and dignity of all patients during care.
